A story... Your adventure!
Our heroes have finally arrived in another town, where they can refresh themselves and sleep in a comfortable bed in the inn. The road ahead is still long and the horses are tired, so the party decides to sell them at the local stable in exchange for new and more comfortable ones. Travelling all this time has exhausted their bodies as well as their minds, so they decide to use some of the loot from the last dungeon to buy a chariot.
They set off the next day, fresh from a pleasant night of fun and games. Gaz takes the reins of the horses and acts as coachman, while Ranya and Egral stay inside.
A few yards from the city gates, heading in the opposite direction on the main road, a wagon-cell of the city guard crosses them and stops their advance: Gaz intervenes with the two guards driving this mobile prison, and after a while the two vehicles go their separate ways.
What did they want?' asked Egral.
'Don't worry, they just asked me what I was carrying and who I bought the chariot from. I showed the receipt and said we were travellers and they let me through without a problem.
'But they asked you more, didn't they?' Ranya replied.
'Damn elf ears...' Gaz babbles, 'Yes, they asked me if we knew a certain Logan and if he was the one who sold us the chariot. They say he is wanted and there is a warm place for him in their wagon.
‘Forget it, it's not stuff’ Gaz continued, giving a tug at the horses trotting faster.
The journey continued into the evening, when they found a quiet place to light a fire and spend the night: just as the meat was cooking on the fire and Ranya was chopping vegetables for her soup, the sound of hoofbeats on the stone of the road echoed in the still of the night.
Everyone stood at attention until the silhouette of a double-decker caravan was illuminated by the fire.
As soon as it stopped, the coachman climbed down from his lined seat, raised his hands to the sky and began to speak.
'I come in peace, gentlemen, I am a humble travelling merchant'.
Egral made his friends lower their guard and approached the man: he was dressed in sumptuous clothes, adorned with gold and precious stones, and looked plump and well-fed.
'Humble, you say?' the cleric said to him, lowering his hands 'What is your name and what brings you to travel at night with your lanterns out?
'I am Logan, the travelling merchant!
'Logan?' asks Gaz, 'The one who stays for free.... In the royal cells?'
*The merchant stiffens and turns white*.
'It is only because of a misunderstanding that I am wanted, nothing more!
'Yes, of course...' Ranya replies, turning her attention back to chopping vegetables.
I can prove to you that my business is more than legal and competitive!
Logan walked over to his caravan and climbed up a ladder. He turned the sign outside, officially marking his opening for the evening.
‘Seeing is believing, my friends!’
Comfortable travel and legendary encounters lie ahead in the adventure of our heroes. Comfortable caravans, prisons on wheels and markets of all kinds are only possible here, with Carriage Encounters!
